Missions
Local & Global
Missions has a long tradition in the Church, and began with Jesus' own statement (Mt 28:19-20) that nothing less than the entire world would come to know and love Him.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

In his own ministry Jesus provided a model for us by bringing both his living words and his actions to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people around him. At its heart missions is a manner of abiding in Jesus' commandment that we "love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength...and love our neighbors as ourselves." Love, as articulated by the author of 1 John, is not just with words, but is expressed by ministering to the physical needs of a neighbor. It is, also, showing a concern for the eternal life of each person that we come into contact with as Christians.

At Spring Hill Presbyterian Church we consider missions, both local and global, to be a priority in what we do.
Globally we support several missionaries and have established a partnership with a church near Moscow, Russia.
Locally our finances and members themselves contribute much towards the assistance of ongoing ministries at several agencies serving the needs of people in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

We invite you to be part of our outreach ministry. Investigate the ministries we support and keep in touch with our missionaries. Email is a wonderful gift to them!
